Flash Panoramas

Another alternative is to create panoramas using Macromedia’s Flash. There are two approaches to this: either to create a 2D panorama, which simply wraps and loops a landscape over which you can scroll (this lacks the immersive ‘warping’ qualities of the Java and QTVR cylindrical panoramas); alternatively, a warping effect can be emulated (this is more processor intensive though and can judder on slower computers). An advantage to using Flash is that it is an incredibly popular ‘plug-in’ – most internet users already have it and updating takes only moments, even on a slow connection. A tutorial on the creation of Flash panoramas can be found in the Flash Tutorial section.
