General Performance tips

  • Much of the optimization is to do with textures – textures are probably the most important aspect to look at when you are looking to increase the speed of your projects – NOTE THAT TEXTURES SHOULD BE A POWER OF 2 (e.g. 512x512,256x256,128x128, etc – the smaller the better….
  • In addition the renderer, virtual memory, client system specifications, desktop settings, sprite size, geometry, number of models and lighting will all affect performance optimization in any project.
  • Setting realistic goals on the minimum system requirements for your users and being able to plan your goals are all part of the responsibility.
